Christian definately don't run a jamsport one ! The AS one is an improved design over the standard one imo, does away with the siamese port between cylinders 3&4, pity the jamsport one ain't stainless as i like the look of it just not the price! Bit of a joke really the prices we have to pay for ford stuff, if you want an evo or 200sx tubular there are brand new stainless ones available for less than £200 and the quality ain't that shabby either really just not much call for rs turbo's hence why we have to pay silly money!

full tubular and to keep turbo in same place just having trouble finding anyone willing to sell the part of the manifold that bolts to the engine to weld it all to so currently getting one machined in stainless so it'll all be stainless

ive got a `one off` tubular manifold that was made by haywood & scott, anyone who knows about this company knows how good their workmanship is, second to none. i got it after only 500 miles use as the car which was used for its development was broken for parts. it includes a new stainless downpipe, actuator and oil drain as it turns the turbo slightly downwards off the standard position, ive even got the original receipt for it to be made and fitted which was £1500 !!!!

its still sat in its box from when i bought it as i was going to use it on my zvh engine but to be honest the money could be used better elsewhere on the car at the mo so its prob going to be up for sale very soon.

ideal for anyone who wants a unique 1 off manifold thats made by a very very good company using quality materials.

ill take some a bit later if i can, shes safely up in the loft lol. £1500 was them fitting it too though and i suppose as its a one off design alot of hours went into it.

its only missing one part though, it utilises a 3 bar turbo damper/hanger similar to the bailey cossy items but it didnt come with it, it was designed to bolt to 3 of the bolts that hold the rocker cover on. i planned to have one made once it was fitted to my new engine as it wouldnt take much for someone to fabricate one.

it looks completely diff to any tubular manifold ive seen, there will probably be mixed views on it and whether any gains would be made but personally i cant see that it would have any type of negative effect.

i bought it due to the build quality and to be different from everyone else.

dave.

ok, here are some pics of the mentioned manifold for anybody thats interested in seeing it.

STRAIGHT ON VIEWS

SIDE ON VIEWS

UNDERSIDE VIEW

COLLECTOR VIEW

PICTURE SHOWING THE QUALITY OF THE WELDS

HEAD SIDE VIEW

CUSTOM DOWNPIPE

DOWNPIPE WELDS

its hard to truly show the manifold using my phones camera, the stainless is a goldie colour and where its got warm its changing different colours like petrol does when spilt and mixed with water, its hard to explain, i think titanium does this ????.

if you look at the pics youll see all four runners are separate until the collector and theyre strenghtened with extra material above and below where the runners connect making it very strong. you can see in the close up pics of the manifold and downpipe the quality of the welding.

also youll see the extra tab on the manifold which is used to connect the turbo damper/hanger, but im not even sure it would be needed as this thing is really solid.

like i said previously, i bought this as its different to any manifold ive seen for the rs turbo and its been developed and built by a very very good company with a good reputation.

lastly, i looked at the receipt and the total price is £1292.50 but that was without the damper/hanger which when i rang them i got a quote of £200 making it £1492.50 all in for the complete package to be made and fitted but like i said the damper/hanger i would of thought is optional and would definatly be cheaper to get made elsewhere than what i was quoted.

thanks for looking lads, no doubt there will be mixed opinions lol, any questions etc please pm me.

Whatever he runs he was pulling 350hp out of a standard manifold, so it's what people are willing to pay to tart up the bay tbh either way...

AS one does look really well made for the price, a lot of man hours there. Be interested to see how they hold up to a couple years abuse

when i saw the AS ones on their display stand at ford fair a few yrs ago when they werent even available on their website i had a gd look over it and internally it was shocking around the collector, may of improved since though.

may be a gd idea to look on their stand at ford fair this yr if your going as they may have one available to have a gd look over.

It's just that ones for evo's etc, admittedly i don't know how they are made but can get them for less than £150, bought one a while back for an experiment lol and the quality wasn't too bad at all considering the price. the jamsport ones just didn't look stainless that's all, painted grey iirc, not shiny like most of the ones you see. I'm sure they're very good and i do like the look of them, are they all handmade by yourself?

So can they come direct from you or do jamsport stock them??!! Do you make them with different flanges to suit the gt series turbo's etc? I've heard some do crack/break where there's a lot of leverage on them from the turbo hanging underneath but it's a good testament if you've made 20 and not had one crack !!

If the siamesed ports of 2 and 3 are an issue of the standard manifold, why are the siamesed ports of 1 and 4, and then 2 and 3 not an issue on a 2wd Cossie manifold?
