1500 sounds pretty good. Dont know if you can still do this but you used to be able to get insured on a cheap car like a metro with a policy that gave insurance cover on any other vehicle, if I remember CIS used to do it. But you have to get someone like your dad to get insured on the turbo in case someone steals it. might be worth looking at.

I think that can be done still but the car has to be insured by someone else for you to be covered on it....i think anyways

try swintons m8. but that price for a 20 year old with no ncb sounds about right.

I Insure my landrover fully comp and then drive my s1 on it got my mum to insure it classic for £247 and thats fully comp (for her like some one said if it get nicked you can then swing it and hopefully not lose)

But imo £1500 on this own is a good quote

Ps if he insures a small car the log book has to be in his name

im with adrian flux aswell, 24, 4 year ncb, with my 22 year old missus on it, £400 quid!
There is another trick u can do, try direct line, or elephant online, and place your mum or dad on it as a additional driver, normally your mum is best, and the price will come down alot.
Done it last week with direct line on my 89 XR3i last week, price with just me was £399, put my mum on it as a additional driver and it went down to £230, worth a try works for me everytime

Hi I just bought a S2 Stelth Escort (1.3 popular shell!!!) At the moment I'm paying £550 at 25 with 4ncb & No points! HOWEVER when speaking to an insurance company (THINK it was HIC) they said that as soon as car is more than 15 years old they could put it on a CLASSIC policy. He gave me a quote of about £300 - £350 with all mods declared. And its running over 220bhp+++!!! Will hopefully have it on a rolling road soon so i can really know whats going on!!!

Anyway try getting a quote from a company dealing with classic ins.

yeah im 25, no NCB and 8points, own a S2 and i pay 690 tpft with adrian flux... I agree
with Tonyturbo noboby came close. I must admit i spent a whole morning ringing round insurance companies and played them off againist eacn other!! My best advice is to get Max power , Revs or autotrader and go to the insurance section and just ring every advert u see, most r free numbers so u have nothing to lose
