your speedo might be out, get a sat nav that shows speed and see what that says when your doing 100.

mine had a chip, bigger ic and the s2 box with lsd.

it topped out at 125 on the clocks, so that'd probably be closer to 105-115?

possibly abit more yeah, but its all about power bands too, i mean you've got to be pulling close to 6k revs at those speeds, and how much useful power is up there?

not alot.

If your speedo is correct (which you say it is) then it can only be down to gearing, 100MPH @ 6000rpm is not right if your in 5th!!!! Are you actually doing 6000rpm or is the Rev counter faulty maybe?

Think it's 950rpm idle, but even if it shows idle correct it might not up in the revs, I had one that would only get to about 2500rpm! Obviously the car kept going was just the needle that didnt get any higher!

sounds like a combination of things you.ve probably got a early xr3i box in with the 4.29 final and possibly got a speedo that is reading right as the old xr3i on standard wheels used to read around 120 at 6000 take away 10% inaccuracy and your back to 108 not that far from what you.ve got given the rev counter could be out 100/200 rpm at that stage your probably back to what your reading. bang a series 2 box in it and you'll notice a big improvement 100mph a touch over 4250 rpm

I have heard 'stories' of peoples XR3i boxes lasting really well even on cars laying down 200+BHP!! You might be suprised, I think it's all about the hard launches really.

I always thought S1 ratio's were short? I had what I thought were S1 ratio's in mine YEARS ago and used to bounce off the 5th gear limiter in well under a mile.
