You should check Malta's 1/4 mile times. They amaze everybody especially when considering the shit they tune with and the unique Malta's inventions! For example have you ever considered putting Isuzu 1.7 turbo diesel conrods in an RST?!

Anyway, an Escort Mk5 with an RST engine and with a 1.8 bottom end was surely doing low 12's and not sure if it touched the 11's mark. The guy was almost keeping up with his father's Escort Cosworth which at the time was one of the best on the island. That's about 2-3 years ago. Later they took the engine out and put it on an Escort Mk1 doing low 9's and sometimes even 8's!

Honestly I don't know why and obviously I don't question any of your abilities, but when comparing British times with Maltese times, with much less tuning here they do better 1/4 mile times. For example with just a double size intercooler, kent cam, and the Fiesta 1.3 4-speed gearbox with a diesel clutch (which by the way has excellent ratios but the clutch slips) I was doing 13.6s with my RST on a bloody heavy Orion Mk1. Now I should do much better after rebuilding the engine completely and in a month time will get Bernie's stage 2 plus...

At the moment it's more a Japanese dominated era due to these Japan imports. There's a street legal EVO VI doing 9's, although there was a Sapphire Cossie 4x4 who did 9s as well. Most Integra's have been turbocharged and they're doing 12's & 11's except for one doing low 10s. And once there was an amazing Glanza who did 11s straight on the 1.3 block. He later switched to the 1.5 block but did worse and then disappeared

si vs tim in a performance ford grudge match. Might have to do some research on this but i think severn valley had an escort rs turbo white or cream on the front cover of fast car claiming a 1/4 mile time of 10's or 11's. Will have to find the magazine in the loft. 300 bhp cvh with the back suspension propped up, was recorded at santa pod aswell. But like i say will have to do some research....ask jeeves!!!!

That's well documented car and has many question surrounding the time, the car only did that time once and recorded very suspect 60ft times when it did it suggesting issues with the timing
When the car did the time in 1998 it recorded a 60ft in 1.795

when you take the 6ft times into consideration and the fact it was at yourk in 1998 along with the knowledge that it never ever got close to the time again it seems unlikely it did it in the first place

The maltese rock!

Most of the success coming from being resourseful and an ability to think out the box. Also the excellent surface at Hal Far has got to help too..... Makes Crail look like a dirt track

Hi Will,

The Gotech Pro-X can control Nos, but I still have my Max Extreme progressive controler, so I will get it all hooked up next time out. Also I still have 5psi of boost left in the bag!

We will see it goes any faster up Crails dusty old strip!

Traction was good in 4th, 5th. On to the rev limiter in 5th just before the end.

1st just drive away, 2nd keep it off wheel spin, 3rd almost full throttle, 4th floor it (some spin).
