Default running in new cam

Hello, i have just fitted a new standard ford cam, hydrolic lifters ,rocker arms and valve stem oil seals. to my s2 and am having trouble getting the car to idle smoothly, when i start the car some times i have to push down the metering flap down to get it to start, it sounds fine when the revs are held at about 2 thousand revs but you have to slowly let go of the metering flap slowly then it will idle but just quite roughly. Also i have started the car like this about 6 times but havent bedded in the cam yet as i wanted to sort the idleing problem first, will it have done my cam any harm and what is the best way to bed it in.
I cant find any airleaks or anything and have put new boost hoses on it but stil sounds like it running on 3 cylinders. really anoying now.
Any ideas

Default Cambelt

Yes the Timing is spot on, when the timing marks line up the rotor arm is pointing to 2 oclock. I put number 1 spark plug lead on starting from the rotor arm and put the others on going anti clockwise, 1342 so the plugs are on correct. Any more ideas.

Default running in camshaft

Check all if your ignition system make sure firing order is correct, and verify the 4 injectors are all functioning. ( not running)

I would definitely forget about the idle problems, as you will surely damage the camshaft and lifters by not following the correct camshaft break in procedure.
Idling with new cam and lifters before propper bedding will lead to failure.

Default Cam

Right, With the car not running i bridged a wire across the fuel pump relay and pushed down on the metering flap and fuel is coming through each injector ,i also bought a new fuel pump relay so its getting fuel ok.
I double checked my leads and there on in the correct order. 1342.
How should you bed in a new cam.

car should be revvin at 2-2500k rpm for 20 mins approx to run in a new cam
letting it idle is takin life of ur cam and will lead to premature failure
