this was a while back, but somehow the halfords trade system discounts calipers massively, well it did for my RS, i ended up with a pair of recon fronts for 30quid each, and that was without even havin to exchange

most halfords wnt do calipers now, but sum will, so might be worth a mooch if u kno somebody with a trade card

bout the only thing id be recommending halfords for though dnt worry

Alright mate......

I did a full rebuild of my calipers last year using a rebuild kit from a company called 'Big Red'. It cost me about Ł20.00 and was really east to do, just strip the entire caliper down, clean it up and reassemble with new seals etc..
You've just got to make sure the pistons aren't pitted to death and are totally clean when putting them back together!
Hope this helps!

does 1 kit rebuild a pair of calipers, or is it a kit per caliper?

might give my rear calipers a spruce up

The kit I bought does a complete axle, so yeah one kit for two calipers!
The link is below... Really good company, they had no probs when I phoned asking stupid questions about how to fit the bits and bobs!

Martin, get the kit from BiggRed as above and ask for 2 new pistons (only Ł9 each). They are easy to do. Get the kit, pop them round to me on the car and we can rebuild them there and then, or I will see if I have some spares that need reconning, give me the seal kit and I will get the calipers painted up for you @ the same time.

Actually, are you @ the meet tomorrow @ Enfield? If so, come find me and we will go over all the faults with yours in one go, including the screen and the servo.

Might have a spare servo around as well. If I have and you are going to Enfield, I will try to remember it for you.

Reminds me, have you done the TCA yet?
