So,
Put a turbo my mate had on my ERST...
Got no boost. Mucked about and checked amal valve connections and they are all correct.
Wastegate isnt getting stuck but if i drive in 2nd all the way to 5,000rpm i get like 2psi of boost on my gauge and hear it slightly dump.
Any suggestions?

Did you have to pull the actuator rod out in order to get it onto the waste gate lever? It's supposed to be mounted with a fair amount of pre-tension.
If that's all fine, you could try removing the pressure hose from the actuator. BUT BE CAREFUL your car will run unlimited boost now. If it boosts, it is most likely the amal valve thats knackered. If it doesn't boost, it's the turbo.

I also agree where someone asked something along the lines of "When you installed the actuator, the rod has an Eye hole in it and that has the wastegate rod pushed through it. You should have to use proper effort to get the actuator rod over the wastegate arm, if you don't then there is no pre-tension on the wastegate. At the moment everything you are saying sounds like the wastegate is not shut, regardless of you telling us it is

Have u checked that the exhaust elbow is bolted tight to the turbine housing? It could be loose and the eblow has the wastegate penny attached to it. If loose it won't be sealing properly.
The other option would be to pull the pipe off the wastegate and floor it in say 4th, if the boost goes mental or much higher than the 2psi, then there is something wrong with ur boost control system. If you do this, only floor it for a tiny half second to see if the guage rises much further, the car would be unsafe but not for just a .5 second test of boost.
Head up and see one of the pros if you want.

Wheres the best place to send it in mate to get it ready for you to tinker with it?
Its leaking gearbox oil, but at a slow rate. So maybe the seals on the driveshafts.
Fixed idling and leaks. Just gearbox oil and turbo now.
It used to be fine lol. I wish i just had a professional do the work. Ive seriously learnt from my mistakes.
I don't know what im doing and i admit that, but its annoying when a mate says he does and then wants to charge me when he didnt have a fucking clue. Turns out its his first time and he was playing a guessing game!

I am pretty sure that stu would be happy to look at your car. Sounds like it needs an experienced eye on it and he will more than have that covered!!! If I was your way and in your situ, that is exactly what I would do.

Well the reason i cancelled was because of the gear box oil and the bodged up/rush of a job my mate did. Ive sorted this now and got it all back together but still have the garbox leak (which he says is just residue from when it was filled) and the none working turbo.
I can get the car to you anytime matey. Just let me know.

Best thing is if you have a spare hour or whatever to look at it that would be great because i still have the problem of a leaking gearbox to be sorted
I defo want it setting up by you hence the new turbo, intercooler, clutch and fuel pump i got. But the reason i cancelled was because of the state i got it back in.
But if you could look at the car to advise the problem and then i can get it properly booked in for a setup and whatever with you

I can only advise you email me mate, I dont come on the forums trying to remember what work people may have wanted doing, but if you e-mail me or call me at work then we can go from there regardless if you only want to book one hours labour to test or go for a full setup at £141 which id advise given the adjustments that have likely been made before they gave up and give you the car back with no boost.
