Have you ever touched a charge carrier on an rst after it's bin given a load of shit on track.....you can't touch the thing it gets so hot! Can't imagine it would do any harm to heatwrap it, bound to help to some degree imo.

The temperature of the charge carrier pipe does apply in terms of heatsoak when the car is stood still, when you come off track or more to the point in the queue for qtr mile.....i totally agree when you're moving it has no effect but personally i never have any act issues when the car's moving, even in summer apart from when heatsoak takes place.

Because as soon as you stamp on the throttle and air starts flowing through the engine at pace all that hot air is gone.. within a split second..

Do you not think that its the air thats passed through it in the first place that has warmed the charge carrier up so much so its more a case of the charge warming the pipe up rather than the other way around?

Mines wrapped with the silver reflective wrap if it works i do not know as tesco say every little helps. Its like scooby and gtir owners i mean why do they put front mount intercoolers on when the original is so well sited on top of a hot engine, bit like a charge carrier really.

Dont forget that heat wrapping it will stop the heat getting OUT as well as in!
Why do you think the thing is hot in the first place? Half the reason is probably from all the heatsoaked hot air coming from the intercooler when standing still and not all just from the top of the engine!

Not sure whether it works or not, but don't forget it's not just the heat from the top of the engine: you have the rising turbo heat in the equation warming up the pipe.
