As far as i have learnt today, the 2.0 dipstick tube is the wrong shape and will foul on the downpipe. 1.8's dipstick tube is sweet for the job

if you use the 1.8 sump then use the same dip stick
I've seen the difference in the two when in dip stick tube
If you use the 2.0 one you will end up putting more oil in than the 1.8 sump can take

Got mine coming from Ford. Bit of a confusion tho as they seem to have made one dipstick for the 1.8, but 4/5 different tubes???
I had no idea what my bottom end came from, but think we got it sorted in the end.
Both cost aound Ł15 a piece

as long as the dip stick+tube all came from the same engine as the sump all will be ok. the 2.0 dip stick tube will try to poke through the middle of the manifold where the 1.8 curves around it very neatly

Ford asked me whether it had power steering or not, so there must have been zetecs without... or the geezer on the phone has a poor knowledge?!

Im concerned now that I'm gonna be sent the wrong dipstick tube....
What would happen if the wrong tube is used? How 'off' will the reading be on the dipstick?
