I've had enough of always fixing the escort, everytime I fix somethig I come across something else that requires attention . I put it up for sale at £3k or swap for a corsa turbo. A friend of a friend has just called round with his corsa turbo and is looking for a swap but I don't know if I should! I'm thinking I've spent a fortune on mine and can't carry on spending now I'm out of work and RST's always require some money spending on them. His corsa is running a standard calibra turbo motor and is a bit of a sleeper and just had an engine rebuild. I'm in 2 minds, what do you think?

The corsa might have the power but it will never look as good as an rs turbo plus people will always look twice at an rs turbo not a shity looking boyracer corsa don't do it.

Keep the Escort. An RS is an RS. A Corsa is nothing in comparison. Quick it may well be and Chip will rave about them, but they're hardly oozing character are they.

You have already spent money on your rst so why let someone else get the bargain?
If you are worried something else is gonna go wrong take it to a good garage and get them to check the whole thing over and sort anything. You will have to do that with the corsa anyway.
I like corsa's and would like a let but that looks shite I'd be wary that there are bodges on it

as you've owned the rs quite a while i cant believe your thinking of swapping it.
i sold my awsome s1 6 years ago and every day i missed it.
6 months ago went out and brought a s2(white 90 spec) and now back loving every minute of it. If you sell it, it will be full or regrets

iv swaped before with a so called friend and trust me it was worst thing i ever done dont swap i was same for ever spending week in week out if you have adenough sell and buy a new car thats more reliable if that not what you want stick with rs i miss mine like mad

keep the rst,the calibra engines are fast as fu*ck tbh i had a 300bhp mk3 astra,but the corsa is just to lite to get power down they just spin,and them corsa's look crap compared to a escort,but its your choice,but think are you goin to get problems with the corsa?has the wiring been bodged etc,at least with the escort you now whats ment to be there and whats not its not 2cars mated with each other if you know what imean

speaking from experience,the corsa is a horrible little car,turbo engined corsas eat shafts,rip the mounts out of the floor at the rear of the gearbox,the pillars crack where they meet the rear 1/4s and they will never hold their value like an rst,sure it will be fun and fast,but when it goes wrong(and it will) you may find it hard to get anybody to work on it,dont get me wrong,rst's have their faults but i would have the scort anyday.

Looks like I better keep the escort then! I've had novas and corsas for years tho so know what there like I sold my 2.0 16v sr nova to buy the RST, if done properly they are good little cars, and turbo 1's are very quick that's why I thought about 1. My escort is only a sunday car anyway, I have a brand new car for best . edit:- that's just been towed to the garage with a knackered engine and box, not bad for 12k miles and a cost of £19000

I think I should just put a sheet over the escort and leave it and just buy the corsa to play out in!

Sounds like you're hardly in love with fords so if the corsa's what you want......personally i wouldn't touch one, especially lookin like that one lol, yeah it may be quick but blimey it's a poverty spec corsa with a turbo'd motor in it that's all! To me that's all it'd ever be but i have got some daft thing for fords even after 5 years of spending money on my rst lol

I would keep the RS, im on my 5th S2 and ive been there got fed up with paying out all the time on the escort, ive had ren 5 turbos, fiat coupe 20v turbo, bmw's and i missed not having the S2, now im more patient with the S2 if and when it goes wrong, but saying that i only did 1500 miles last year through choice.

I should have said I've had 6 corsa's no turbos though and don't ask me why lol
2 s2's and my first rst was a nightmare so I know the feeling mate

I'll get a turbo nova or corsa one day just for lunacy 1/4 mile and a bit of track fun want a really good one or convert it myself. They don't hold their money but most rst's are worth more in bits too

They look like the wheels that new vehicles get delivered to showrooms on, they look wank, and going by the rest of the car it looks shite compared to an RS, as said, corsas have no character and its not worth anything close to what your rs will be worth.

To be fair tho, the corsa has been done proper and not bodged, it's got a grands worth of leather retrim and the engine is sound, just been taxed and just passed a legit M.O.T. I think I'll keep the escort tho. Thanks for everyones input
