Wheels wont fit because of big calipers!
Hiya guys,
I have Focus ST170 Calipers and discs on my Escort RS Turbo. I currently have RS 7 Spoke alloys (17") but want to go back to standard RS Turbo alloys (15").
However because of my calipers i cant fit my wheels on.
What do you guys think i should do? Skim my calipers or get new smaller ones?
Cheers,
Shep.

cheers for all the help guys.
I was speaking to my mate and he said to fit the ST170 discs you need to modify the existing hub because of the different sizes etc. He said once this is done you cant go back to standard RS Turbo brakes.
Im not 100% knowledgeable however i believe he said something about the hub has been drilled out 12mm and now need a 283mm disc to fit to the modified hub?
Is this right?
He said it sint a straight swap over like it would be with the original hub.

im not entirely sure, but possibly instead of a complete hub swap, u cud re-tap the holes that were modified (threads drilled to 12mm) and use a slightly larger bolt to suit, obviously opening out the carrier hole slightly to match?
would save a lot of the hassle of sourcing and swapping the entire hub assemblies anyways

so as it stands, the cossie caliper conversion is as simple as can be as the hole is already drilled so u dnt even have to faff with that
so if u want ur standard rims and the easiest brake upgrade around, 4x4 cossie calipers on 2wd cossie 283mm discs, job done

dude, the only modifications to your hubs are a single threaded hole has been drilled out to 12mm to suit a nut n bolt on the new carriers, same modification would have been done for ur st170 conversion as wud b done for cossie calipers, just that 1 hole
