i picked up 1 of the floro lined roose items at spares day about a year ago, i paid about 15quid, visibly a lot thicker and more robust than any other silicone hoses on the car, im guessing due to the extra lining to make it suitable for use

The breather hose we use at work is fine, used on all test beds, I've run one for 1400hrs before engine was taken off the bed, and it was perfect. I think its Gates hose

I bet its floro lined mate. I assure you that your average motor factors silicon hose will not withstand engien oil for any length of time.

gates predominantly make hydraulic hose for high pressure systems on diggers and such, so usually anything they sell as breather hose is just thinner hydraulic hose. they were my old company's biggest supplier, until they sold us up the river and sent us into administration lol

LOL!
Yeah i think it was a H reg, we were messing about on the dual carriage way coming back from Freeport...... I wheelspun in 2nd then missed 3rd (shitty old XR3i box) and hit the rev limiter looked like a right bell end!
So he was ahead, then he let me past and gave him a wave, so he was behind me but was right on my arse so he's putting out good power!
Flashed and beeped as he turned off..... seemed friendly!

1400 hrs is a long time Stu... no idea what lining it is, but not normal silicon thats for sure, as "breather hose" to me, does not shout Samco

I *think* it is this stuff, but not sure, looks the same in the picture, but it certainly is not very flexible as it says it is

Would be interesting to know if it is what you say
