for track and road then yes coilovers

i have gaz on my car but have to use spacers now on the back so tires dont rub them

i hear avo's are not as wide so maybe a better choice?

also tell them what pound springs you want when odering or you will get the standard 180lb ones an they are a waste of time for track

they are a waste of time full stop i think mart.. you know i drive mine like a girl most of the time and it used to catch on the rear arches cos the supplied rear springs are too soft - and too short. Get 10 inch rear springs to

the coilovers made a world of difference to mine and have been out in several s2's since with new koni's and the like on.. seem little different to worn out konis!

i would never spend any money on the suspension on mine - but it's been worth every penny, complete convert now

Micky's S2 convinced me that Konis - time spent on setup geometry & good driving skills are mroe advantageous than fitting run of the mill coilovers.

Wul Youngs S1 with Konis and again loads of time spent on the geometry and attention to detail, was the tightest sweetest handling road going RS Turbo i've driven.

Having said that a S1/S2 with decent coilovers and time and effort spent on the geometry set up, does make for a cracking handling car.

Tonys MEF kitted 1600i, Olies MEF kitted S1 and a mates MEF kitted S2 were all impressive.

brizie i can't actually remember now all i remember was that the 200 or 220lb 10" springs made the difference on the rear for me - they are not so nice and are a bit bangy on the road on the back, but stopped it squatting and catching the rear arches.. and it handles nice

when i spoke to the GAZ guys (and i know little and nothing about these things) at Autosport a year or so ago, they reckoned that you can go too hard on the rear and it gets to the point of being detrimental to the handling)
Personally, i like mine how it is now - think Tim Butch went harder on the rears, not sure how it worked out for him?? he goes faster than me
Mine is also adjustable on the front end - depends what you want to go for

Posted these before but shows the difference:

On Koni;s it used to be floaty and scarey:

On Coilovers and adj TCA's:

In a straight line, it used to scrub the rear arches with the GAZ springs:

nothing changed, just rear springs c/o dingy&kia
