Right, i've been offered this in a P/x for my motor.

My main concern is the mileage on the block itself.

What do you guys reckon to this? the chap may be on this forum?

At that mileage mate you'll be looking at a rebuild asap really, so if your happy to do that it looks like a tidy car.

In the photo of the engine it looks like someone has cut part of the front panel to fit the intercooler? don't remember having to do that on mine?

and the headed tank looks half pissed and front panel has been cut when you dont need to cut it !!

hes got a EFI header tank on there,intercooler isnt a pace one,think hes just made it fit,lol

intercooler looks to be the pace one, cant see any evidence of cutting f the slam either...

woul;d be asking for better pis of the whole car in the DAYLIGHT tho if it were me as the duck light can hide alot!

He has cut the the slam panel next to the passenger head light !!! Why ?? Could it be a S1 cooler ?? I would stay away personally, there is some S2's out there for that price, i paid Ł2100 for mine, im the 4th owner and its still got original sills, battery tray etc

wouldnt touch it mate, depends on the deal though, any slam panel mods would make me run a mile. Engine will probably need rebuilding too as Karlos said but having never really knowing the true history of most rs we buy you never know what has been done to the engine.
It depends on the deal you are getting it for but id definately fix the slam panel and let the guy know that it is going to better the deal for you and worsen it for him if that makes sense

the intercooler will be for a fiesta turbo, they do fit with mods

NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER buy an RST without viewing and inspecting for rust!

If you cant afford an engine rebuild which this WILL need at some point very soon, then RST's might not be for you! But you could always pick up a second hand engine and fit it yourself if you are half decent with a spanner. Either way budget for some additional costs soon.

as above.wen i bort a black 1 that i had the rad was touching the turbo and it had a pace fiesta intercooler,my only way around it was to cut that bit of front panel out to make it sit better its cos the top pipe sits further over on fiesta one than a escort one,looks tidy as long as ur prepared for a rebuild.
