Default Engine advise needed

after selling my s2 i got rid of most of the spares i had knocking about aswell but have still got an engine block and crank in my garage (its the block with the hole about an inch round on the flywheel end, which i believe is a 90 spec block?!) and i was thinking of building an engine as a project in the new year.

the block has no scoring in the bores but was the original block in my s2 which had done 150k miles without a rebuild and the crank appears to be in good condition aswell.

ive been thinking of a spec for the engine whilst bored at work and in my free time and was wondering on what sort of spec for a genuine 200+bhp motor.

i was thinking along the lines of:
forged pistons and rods
slight over bore maybe 0.5
regrind the crank
new shells and bearings etc
efi conversion (believe the hole in the block is for a flywheel pickup)
ported and polished head
uprated cam
stage 3 t3 or t34
possibly cossie management

just asking if anybody has the same basic set up and what companies they would recomend. also would be nice to know what sort of prices

cheers in advance

if you do that you will see over 200bhp
usually a cam, chip, fmic,K&N and a decent exhaust should do you 200 depending on you engine

cheers for the reply mate, kinda wanted to over engineer it any way for relaibilty and a scope for further tuning (can always de-tune it if it got much lol) just think it would be a good little project that won't take up as much room as my last one lol. would like to eventually put it in a series one or series one replica

Go for:
+0.5mm Overbore with torque plate & Ultra-fine finish
Forged Pistons (Cossie)
Farndon Steel Rods
If the crank is ok, just have it checked/micropolished
New Oil Pump
ACL HD B/E`s & Mains
Balance the lot
= Reliable powerhouse!

Balance the lot

All your maching inc balancing should be around the £250 mark. You can get cheaper steel rods for around the £350 mark also
