Default Gearbox differences Now with pics

I'm in the middle of an engine and box swap on my rst. The box I bought is a rebuilt turbo diesel item. I had to chop a bit of the casing with the grinder to get the ABS pumps to bolt on, and have now discovered I have a spare plug on my loom (think it's for the reverse lights) and nowhere on the box to plug it into

the plug is roundish with a 2 pin connector iirc
How can I get round this?

if you're standing for your car its on the rights bottom side of the gearbox. When the box is in the car they might be difficult to see

But why a diesel box as said before they are the same as the other gearboxes and you have no lsd

i believe they are stronger and have better ratio's. i have been told that you should dump an lsd for serious boost applications anyway, i cant think who told me but i thought it was utter bollocks at the time and havent really bothered to look into it. I will be soon though as am just starting a build myself very soon.

What is the spec of the diesel box mate, what did it come off and what are the benefits of having it?

I bought the box off a lad on here, he guaranteed it had only done 2k miles since it was rebuilt. He was only up the road and the price was right, thats why I bought it
I'll take some pics of the 2 boxes later on today so you can see what I mean.

They are usually cheap But in all seriousness they have longer ratios which is better for top end speed and the power is more progressive so you don`t notice the lack of an LSD as much.

Looks like the connector is different on that box. I had a diesel MK5 box and the connector was the same as my MK4. You don`t need a reverse light for MOT so if its not bothering you then leave it off.

Otherwise get a wiring diagram and work out the wiring.
