They are usually cheap
But in all seriousness they have longer ratios which is better for top end speed and the power is more progressive so you don`t notice the lack of an LSD as much.
Looks like the connector is different on that box. I had a diesel MK5 box and the connector was the same as my MK4.
You don`t need a reverse light for MOT so if its not bothering you then leave it off.
Otherwise get a wiring diagram and work out the wiring.
