heater and water temp gauge not working
Heater is about as warm as a cold winters day at the minute. The ign fuse had blown so I replaced it but the car went into the garage to have the electrics sorted out after that so didnt get to sort out the heater and the temp gauge. The bloke said the immob wires were shit so they took it all out and got the loom back to standard.
Means I can install a toad alarm with all the extras which will put my mind at rest knowing that I installed it well, I know how the system works and it is better than the laserline piece of shit that was in there to start with.
Does anyone know what I can do to fault diagnose the heater system on a s2 rs turb? The temp gauge also don't work which aint a problem as im installing aftermarket gauges but it isnt really the point as I want everything to work on the car as ford intended and then some.
Any help on the matter will be most appreciated!
Cheers
Chris

check the wire from the back of the clock to the temperature gague. the temp gague it the thing on the front right hand side of the head. The wire is blue and green. Try shorting the wire back to the negative of the battery. if the temp goes into the red its your sensor that is fooked. with regards to the heater system....what is the problem? it dont get hot at all? change the thermostat!

When i turn the car on and let it run for as long as needed I put the heater on and i get a sound change to indicate it is turning from hot to cold, but the air is just so cold. I have changed the thermostat and drained and replaced the coolant but still have the same problem.
Any ideas?

PassionFord Post Whore!!
are the two pipes to the heater matrix getting warm/hot?
if they are sounds like your your matrix is blocked, you mite be able to flush it through with a pressure washer but if its weak you run the risk of bursting it, replacement is the best option
