Default T3 turbo problems

Can anyone tell me how to go about getting a rebuild kit for a Garrett t3 turbo? Or would it be cheaper to buy a used or new one? The one I have now is leaking oil and smokes sometimes. And how much play should the turbine shaft have? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

can you buy the shaft seperatly and was all the s1 turbochargers made by turbotechnics as the one i just took off my car has a little turbo technics sticker on the back of it and i was wondering if maybe it had been upgraded but the fins on the shaft are totally fucked like someone has ran it with a bolt flapping about inside there

i can rebuild your turbo and back your turbine wheel as well
you can rebuild you own turbo but you need to get it balanced also you need to know the tolarance of the bearing's [for wear and wear on the shaft around the seal area] and wear on the turbo center housing around where the seal sit's.
make sure you have no in and out play on the shaft as this will wear all the seal area's and can touch your wheel on the housing's

i would use vince from cr turbos.. Great prices and guarantee .
cr turbo also have the equipment to crack test the housings and to balance the turbos.

I sent my last turbo back to vince and he inspected it and repaired it for less than people were quoting me for a replacement unit.
