How do you know its the pump? You may have a good 12-14volts with the ignition on at the pump but you might find that drops off alot when the pump is drawing lots of power when out on the road and working hard.

Just thought I would mention before you spend your hard earned.

Welcome to Escort Turbo ownership. To be fair the pump could die at any time, stuff ike this is to be expected on a 20 year old car. It could of been worse, you could of melted the engine! TBH I wouldnt really be that interested in offering a warrenty if I sold a Escort turbo especially on stuff like this. Different matter if he had made out it was rot free and turned out to be rusted through.

try takeing the pipe of the top of the fuel filter and turn it over and see how much fule comes out if it drips its prop the pump or not enough volts if it flys out the pumps fine but dont have a fag when doing it lol

i would say the pump brv!...

If you've changed the metering unit, checked all fuel lines then it must be that.
Does the fuel pump buzz when you turn the ignition on?

There not that exspensive really. So replace that. its a ford dude. Always fix one problem then you get 2 more!

when you say buzzing do you mean a constant buzzing or just a 2 second buzz like a hit of crack?

I am asuming you have checked the fuel pump relays under the dash. Sometimes they do very funny things! Mine wouldnt buzz the pumps for a few seconds before start up but after a few seconds cranking it would run no problem. It was only when I had the relay off for other reasons did I notice it was half melted! Turned out to be too much resistance in the shitty corroded up terminals to the relay!

You will find this problem on cars with bulkhaead repairs around the wiper motor, as it will no doubt of had a few years of being soaked before the repair is done.

Pull the relay apart. The solded joints can go dry and crack. You can use one of your headlight relays from the fuse box, there yelow, to see if it fixes the problem. They will run the pump all the time though, so just use it for a test only.
