Hey all,

Just wondering what models of the escort turbo have LSD, or do they all vary? My gearbox has gone damn ford lmao would never part with it but have a 88 spec box sitting there that may be of use (if my dads nice) but if not will be looking for a lsd gearbox near Scotland for collection!

 

series one and series 2 both have lsd, only the fiesta turbo didnt, the way to tell is look through the hole where the driveshaft goes in,if its just got a small hole in the middle its lsd diff, if theres a bar across the middle its not lsd.

only s2 and s1 came wiv lsd. fez turbo didnt.if ur box starts whining,grab a xr3i box and take ur old lsd out of turbo box and also 5th gear and put it in xr3i box.thats wot i did.my mates got it now and gearbox has been goin 4 a year with 210bhp with no problems mate

 

Anyone got a step by step tutorial of how to do this??? pref with pics??

 

my mate did it 4me.he sed it was easy just had to take 5th gear out and the diff drops out mate

 

thats handy to know,you can use 3i box with putting in the lsd

 

yep.we were just sat there and fort fuk it lets try it.at first we didnt change 5th gear and it went tits up.but after that we tried it again and it worked after changin 5th gear

 

Thanks for replys it really only needs the gaskets sorted out but was running with no gearbox oil so just replacing to save any hassle, as per my other post about rattling when idling this was the cause of it!! when a put gearbox oil in no noise but it just pouring back out so going to get the tool kit out again O THE JOYS
