Default Temp Gauge goes up when I turn the lights on!!

My temperature gauge goes from being about halfway, to just out of the red when i turn my lights on, if i turn them off it drops back to halfway.
(talking about my turbo cabby BTW!)

I'm thiking bad earth maybe but has anyone else had this?
