Talking Help please

Well my project motor is now up and running and will soon be on the road after i tie up i few issues.
First problem is that i have no oil light on the dash. I have checked the bulb and its ok and i have removed the oil pessure switch wire and grounded it but still no joy????? by the way i have brilliant oil pressure so no issues there. oh and i have done an efi conversion which might make a difference.
Second problem or maybe not a problem but the battery light on the dash is always on when the engine is running. Is it ment to go out or stay on? And the alternator is working brilliantly by the way.

ok well battery light shouldn't be always on !!!!!

and oil light should come on then go off which you should already know

was car mfi and when you did the conversion did you change clocks and / or loom also was it a fiesta efi or escort efi if festa it could be the ecu / wiring if escort it could be the clocks that are wrong

with regards to the oil light iv done an efi coversion with an xr3i compleate loom and ofac ecu. I still have the original mfi clocks in the car. Gonna try putting the xrxi clocks in there to try and solve the problem

As for the alternator it came from a sierra which i fitted when i done the the cps conversion. I must say that im not sure i have wired it correctly. There are three connections, one for the neutral which i know is right and two positives. Originally i just connected the live to one of thease terminals but battery light still on so i then linked the two positive terminals with a piece of wire and still the battery light was on. Looking at the sierra wireing diagrams that should have done the trick. But must be missing someting. Ill take a pic if it will help

battery light is due to a loose/faulty earth. Chech all the main earthing point, id thr engine earthed corectly? I had the same problem with mine due to an earthing wite split, it is easily done when swopping engines.

Just reading another thread with someone with the opposite fault to me and someone mentioned that a painted alternator bracket could cause a bad earth. Well mine is powdercoated so could this be a problem?

possibly, make sure that any earths are directly onto the car's chasis, sand the area back to the bare metal to ensure a clean contact.
