Default Puma gearlinkage?

I'm sure i've heard of this retro fitted to a S2, I've got a puma as a daily drive at the mo and the gearchange is ace compared to the rst.
Would the puma linkage fit and improve the feel?

you can make the puma fit and work and its a excellent gear change, get the two linkages together and use both the escort and puma parts to make it

It doesn't need modification or mixing and matching of parts. It only needs to be somehow bolted to the floor as the fixing is very different (no bolt in each corner). Perhaps the Puma's gearchange linkage rear mount would solve this. Some people have shortened the linkages by ~2cm to make the stick more central to the opening in the floor. For tall people it's just better as it is.

It was a 1.7 linkage, but got told they are all the same.....

It bolts onto the gearbox like normal, and u have to trim the edge of the cradle mount and drill 2 holes through the floor and secure with m6 bolts!

Easy! and so much better than my old worn 16i linkage.

I am interested in this conversion , and I have purchased in a breakers a puma gearlinkage, but I noticed that the internal mechanism doesn`t have the return springs that make the gearchange return to the centre position.

What can I do? In the escort mk4 this springs are necessary.
