Default S2 Starting problem

I was driving the car with no problems. Switched it off for about 10mins and then when I got back in, it fired up and turned off immediately. Tried again and did the same thing. The 3rd time it wouldn't start. Took it to the garage to check it out.

Coil is ok, spark plugs ok, the dizzy sensor is ok (I just changed it a few weeks ok)... so the current to engine was ok. So I checked the fuel pressure when turning the ignition and when cranking, both ok. Checked the compression as well, perfect on all 4 cylinders. When I put all back on it fired up immediately. Left it to warm up and switched off. After about 10mins I tried to start it again but it wouldn't fire up once again.

What the hell could it be? I need help guys!

Is the cold-start injector plugged in?

SAME problem as I had. That was really pain in the ass. I cannot start hot engine... and crank like mad...then I suspect my non original fuel pump so I change them and after that car starts perfectly. I put some old rst pump and now no problems.

Hey guys thanks for your replies.

It's making me mad. Now I've tried it again and it started as I turned the ignition. I left it to warm up. Switched off and tried again... started no problems. Left it to cool... started without any problems. I repeated these tests several times and it has always started.

That's bad cause I still don't know what the problem is. And I don't want to make any funny shows in the middle of the road!

The fuel pump has been working fine for 3 years. I tested the pressure and it was perfect. Should I give a try changing the starter motor?

Starter motor wont be the cause as its cranking. Unplug thecold start valve (underneath the inlet manifold) and then try starting. If it then starts when warm the valve is faulty. I had the same fault on my series 2.

I'll give it a try like that if the problem repeats itself. For now it seems ok but I'm pretty sure it will happen again. Thanks for now
