Hi all!!

I´m going to replace the old Rocker Cover Gasket in my Escort RSt S2.

I´ve got 2 type of Gaskets:

- "RUBBER ROCKER GASKET"





- and a "STANDARD CORK TYPE GASKET"

Both gaskets have steel washers (torque restrictors) around the bolt holes to prevent over tightening and possible splitting of the gasket.

The question is: Which is the best gasket??
I think the best is Rubber but I´m not sure.

I've always found the cork better.Could never get the rubber one to seal,lol

 

I use cork.

 

Ive always used the cork ones and never had a problem

 

my cork one was pissing out oil from everywere,replaced it with a rubber one and its fine so far.its not done many miles though yet

 

cant go wrong with a genuine cork one,tho ive used wilcos cork ones for 6 years at 1.49 and never had a leak or problem!!

 

Rubbeer imo...better than the cork one so far anyway!!

 

Ive got a rubber one on mine and so has Twins both with no problems
