I dont doubt most places will try that on but in reality you just need the correct grade and diameter bar and a good engineering firm that can cut the spline to copy the standard ones you can supply for them to copy!
TBH I will have custom shafts made up when I go equal length but at the moment I have cut, sleeved and balanced items, which may be a cheaper solution. If your on a budget.
No doubt though, that Luke is talking best of the best no budget limitations!

gear box is £200-300
shafts £500-600
gear link + cables new £174 + 64 from ford
pedal box with hydraulic clutch about £300 (talk to tony (NUTS RuS)
then its just mounting it so find a focus gear box mount and cut it and weld it in
you also have to re route ur brake lines and the st clutch is not that much good for big power turbo engines
sitech racing can help he has an escort with a 6 speed box in
m4dyeti has fitted the 6 speed box
and i have most of the parts and im about to start fitting it

Thats what i was thinking, i want to make over 300bhp with the st170 engine, i hear that the standard top end is good for 400bhp, any advise or knowledge would be a great help. thanks for the advise so far.

i wouldn like to run a cts+ even when you have them shot peened they still cant take the torque and wouldn last long with all torque from st turbo engine 1200 for a box that needs rebuilding everyyear

has to be st 170 brand new from ford its £170 for the stick and £60 for the cables
but cause they are cables its easier to fit than the mkx75 gearlink
ive found mounting the gear stick on top works better than fitting from under the car then all you have to do is cut a hole near the front for the cables to go to the box
im going out to my garage 2moro will try and take some pics of what i mean

As above fit the assembely in the car and posistion whee you feel comfortable then the cables come with a rubber guide/gromit which needs to go through tunnel/floor area.
No trimming is needed just route so there are no tight bends etc.
Simply clip on the box and you have 6 gears which feel very posisitive.
The next mission is the driveshafts ive got the shafts made now i just need to solve the rear halfshaft bearing mount.

A friend of mine that has an Rs turbo engine with an st170 box fitted a Golf turbo diesel shafts that I think have the same spline at one side and he custumed the other side. Ask Zoqdi racing in Malta who did the conversion.
