Angry Temp. Problem

I will try to explain my problem the best i can, remember, i´m from Spain and my English isn´t good at all!

The problem is simple, the temperature goes up extremely fast (about 1 or 2 minutes from the mid of the gauge to really near of the red zone) when i stop for example in front of my garage, it keeps normal when i stop in a red light or a stop signal just cause it dosn´t have enough time for get hot.

Cause isn´t expensive, and it´s a simple piece of DIY i´ve changed today the antifreeze, the thermostat and i´ve cleaned the best i can all the coolant circuit and nothing changed, when i´m runing it keeps on the normal temperature but when i stay stopped about 2 minutes, it goes up near to the red zone.

Water pump totally ok, no leaks in any hoses, temp. gauge Ok, real temperature checked with a laboratory termometer (89ºC in the midle of the gauge, and 94/95ºC when it´s really near to the red zone) and anything extrange except:

The radiator fan starts ok nearly to 91ºC, but it doesn´t get the temperature down when it´s runing. No blades of it are broken, and it seems to run at the same speed of always... and that´s the extrange thing... why it will doesn´t getting it cold if it runs normally?

Thanks & CheeRS!

No, at last not boiling in the expansion tank. But if i stop the engine when it´s hot, and i open the cap slowly getting the preassure out of the circuit, after a little moment i can hear some bubbles... so, can it be only some air on the cooling system? In that case, how can i purge the circuit totally?

Try to sense the heat of the radiator using your hand – it should be hot in all areas of it. If its cold in on side and very hot in another side – you have got a plugged radiator and you need to clean it.

u might aswell bleed the system aswell start the car with the header tank cap off, leave car running till fan kicks give the hoses a few squeezes should see loads of air bubbles in the header tanks. hope you get it sorted
