Thinking of geting some Escort cosworth wheels for my white s2. What size tyres will I need. Ive just done a resto on my car with new arches and dont want to cut them .its allso lowered 40mm.

i think its 205/40/16 or 215/40/16

 

you will need different wheel nuts aswell as the ones of the s2 only just touch the wheels ps i was going to put some on my s1 one and got told on hear the drive like sh*t with them on

 

Yes alot of people say that they drive crap with them on. But they do look sexy

Bung Mondeo 16's on as they really do make the car drive like a sack of shit. Only had them on my mates car for an afternoon before they went back on E-Bay

 

Had them on my old S2 turbo way back in 1997 they looked spot imo, but it did drive like shit, ride was very hard for some reason & car was 40mm all round had 215/40/16 yoko's on them.

Why do they drive like shit. is it because of the extra tyre width?
I must say even in my cossie (it has the og wheels) it can get stuck in the lorry ruts!
as im sure there cant be much difference 15" to 16" rim wise?

 

i think its the off set of the wheel its self not the tyre

 

yeh that makes sence. kinda what i was saying then, as this would cause it to get in the lorry grooves, and it to feel a bit scatty on hard turns.

Bit annoying hearing this as i was considering selling my/px my esc cos next year to have an s2 with these wheels on

 

I must admit they do look the b******s especially on s1's but mine drove horrid with them on. My rs 7's are much better!

 

where would i get the wheel nuts from?
