my mates been running 260 bhp for over 2 years with 5th injector 21 psi

but thats with a stage 3 head and cvh35 cam etc but standard bottom end

Mine is running 260bhp with standard rods although they have been shot peened and stress releived. Steel rods are on the list as I know it's not a case of IF but WHEN they let go.

he has done over 10k miles with it like it but has long as its set up properly you should have no problem

also it was setup by karl norris @ nms and he said it would be ok but on the limit for the standard rods

yeah that sounds about right.Ive spoken to a couple of tuners who have all said that cvh rods never actually seen any snap in half and when they do break,its due to the rod bolts snapping.They do warp and stretch with high revs though but stress relieving makes quite a bit of difference. In the real world though,if youve spent ££££'s on your turbo,pistons and everything else,would you risk taking the chance?
