the long 1 is thicker

if its hitting the chassis could be you hitting big bumps with fooked shocks

if youve got big wheels and its real low then it brings it all closer too

Is that actually known for fact that RS ones are thicker until i know i thought they were all the same???

And something defo doesn't sound right, i've had some silly low cars and never had that sort of problem.

Where about is it hitting the chassis? Top/left/right etc, a picture would probably be good.

Knackered gearbox mounts, possibly split in two so when you hit a bump, the whole engine and box jumps up!

Gently jack the car up by the bottom of the gearbox (With a lump of wood between jack and gearbox) and see if it starts to lift the box out of the cradle.

Oh well, just a thought!
Never heard of a Mk3/4 doing what yours is doing though...
It doesnt look like a stupidly low ride height either.

It looks to me as if the driveshaft is too far forward, the whole point in the arch shape is for the drive shaft but its fouling forward of the highest point.

To look at is the wheel central in the arch?

And are you 100% the mounts are ok, just because they're new doesn't mean you might not of broken them since!

Well i mean look at mine in the siggy....even with a full car (5 people) it was sat on the original 14" clover leafs, tops of the tyres in the arches and i never had an issue with anything fouling even over rough roads......something has to be out of alignment to cause it?
