rs turbo wont start whilst its hot

Default rs turbo wont start whilst its hot

my rs wont start if i try and start it while its hot i think its the cold start on it but is there anything else it could be before i try and locate another one

dave its not the cold start , its 99 % going to be your starter motors suffering from heatsap mate , very common problem , once the motor cools it starts fine right ?/


try making a heatsheild for ur starter also try lagging ur turbo downpipe ,

that should cure the problem matey

the start moter spins over but it wont fire but when it cools down and does fire and start it runs ruff until it burns off all the fuel shown by white smoke and reaking of unburt fuel then clears and runs fine

i had this problem. would just turn over but not fire when hot. Changed the metering head and was sorted.

I change fuel pump and it is sorted.

replace the neg lead form battery to starter, worked for me and still available from ford

yip id deffo say 99% started,the heat shields are still available from fords so dont pay the extra for them off ebay
and have a check at all the cables on it and make sure there ok and not brittle.
