Default rs turbo wont start when warm

my 1989 escort rs turbo will start 1st time on the coldest icey morning but as soon its up to running temp and you stop the car it wont start agian!!!!!!!!!!You can bump the car and it starts stright away and runs with no probs.if you leave the car over night or till it cools down it starts 1st time.the fuel pump is working and ive got a sparkany help?

sounds like the cold start valve is sticking open

Or its the starter motor solenoid sticking i had an xr3i that used to do some thing similar to what your saying it was a nightmare if you got stuck in a que at petrol stations as after you'd filled up the bloody thing it just sat on the fore court clicking until it had cooled down enough.

the cold start injector on the Mfi engines can be found between the inlet tracts to cylinders 2 and 3. if you follow the fifth pipe from the metering unit (that is the one that does not have a banjo fitment) then you can't miss it.

does the engine turn over ? as sounds like the starter motor as if the heat shield is missing from starter motor which most are they all ways go wrong unless your lucky...

Sounds just like mine,and mines down to the starter getting cooked then sticking

it turns over ok but ive know found out the theres is no fuel cumming out of the metering unit.ive cracked of the main feed pipe and the pump is working,a cracked off the 4 injection pipes on the top of the unit and no fuel comes out?if you bump the car it runs spot on?
