mapped ecu's???help
just bought an s2 last week, apparantly, had around 800 quid spent mapping the ecu then a further 400 remapping when it went 2l zvh?
does this sound remotely possible and also would there be any way of telling,be it phsically looking or by some1 plugging it in etc?

Yes it is possible, but why would you want to prove it? Surely he hasn't added £1200 onto the price of the car for the mapping?
If it was originally mapped on one engine, then the engine was changed later on, it is quite conceiveable for almost all the map to have to be re-written, but that doesn't mean that its a better map.

bought it after it being stood for a year,he had it built,took it out,around 120 miles, added actuator and new turbo,etc,i got it,stripped it,no1 pistons holed,
was just concerened if it hasnt had anything and is still standard, then when its up and running then the same will happen again?
apparantly set up to run >quote by him" unlimited boost"
no had much to do with erst so im going in blind here so need some help

Unlimited Boost??? What a load of shit.......
It probably hasn't had any mapping done and is probably still on MFi. Can you see the ECU's in the engine bay? What management did he say it was on?
But Christina is right, you can easily spend that sort of money on mapping.

Im guessing this is what happend
Id agree with what tony said unless you have receipts for the work that had been done but the unlimited boost part is funny
