Default DOOR LOCK PROBLEM!!!!!

My door motors have started making funny noises, when u unlock the car they try lock again straight away so u have to hold key in the unlock position while u open the door, but once u have the door open the locks will keep locking and unlocking until u close the door, and then they lock. i've checked the motors and changed them but still no joy. the only other thing i could think of is maybe its something 2 do with the alarm. anybody have any ideas??? cheers

Mine do that. Could be anything, but most probably wiring. I have just pulled the Central locking fuse and lock with the key!

Could even be the boot lock/solenoid/wiring. Try unplugging the boot motor and see if your problem goes away?

I had this on my Escort.
The problem with mine was the drivers side tube containing the wiring that goes between the body and the door.
The wire was dodgy.

Sierras do it too. If you watch the interior door locks/release handles (if they move) you'll notice one, usually the passenger one, doesn't actuate properly. My old Sierra did this, but I never sorted it as it only happened once in a blue moon.

It comes from either the lock siezing from lack of use. Clean up the locks and check the operating cables are free and don't have any broken retaining clips. You may notice that the other door lock is 'stiffer' to turn than the one you normally use.
