Personally, I'm concerned about keeping the heat in.

Can the engine take it?

the manifold gets hot enough as it is, let it dissipate ffs it hardly effecting ur under bonnet temps in a turbo car imo

You would be suprised on how much temperature it does make under the bonnet. More so for us S1 drivers as we have no bonnet vents to aid our cooling. The heat can damage wires etc.

I had mine wrapped and it started melting the heat wrap. Manifold off and ceramically coated. Job done. Obviously there is a big difference inbetween a chip and frount mount cooler with some of the big power cars on here.

But then alot of heat can be achieved through the manifold if the timing has been retarded before peak boost is made.

I've heard differently from alot of people.

Wrapping the standard cast manifold is a bad move, holds too much heat.

Wrapping a tubular steel manifold is a good idea as they are usually used on higher performance cars which will produce more heat, so wrapping it will keep engine bays cooler, but can aid cracking

Pesonally i wouldn't wrap a standard manifold

Mine is one of the only big powered CVH's that hasn't yet dropped an exhaust valve, god forbid. I'm sure that wrapping the manifold will raise the temperature in the engine and may make valve-dropping more likely?

In general, heat management is a good idea, but only once you are sure you're not creating a knock-on effect somewhere else.
