ive spotted a turbo on ebay and asked what size the exhaust housing is,the reply i got was that its a standard 2wd cosworth but an erst exhaust elbow will bolt straight onto it,so does anybody have any idea if it will be a .48 exhaust housing or not

The facts don't match up. 2wd cossie has a 0.48 AR exhaust housing that doesn't bolt directly to ERST elbow.

Out of interest can you take a 5 bolt .48 housing and put it onto the cossie t3 or t34 turbo?

I don't know mate, but Karl @ NMS confirmed that my turbo has a .48 housing fitted (when the previous owner took it there once for a tune).
Don't know if this helps at all or useless.

thats why i asked mate seemed a bit odd to me aswell,i might take a gamble on it as its only cheap anyway

if its a RST exhaust housing it will be either .36 or .48.


but if its the cossie 3 bolt flange, it could be 0.48, 0.55 or .63.




The owner could easierly look at the turbo, and it will have the size engraved in the exhaust housing of the turbo.

you can get 0.63 erst housings they are on lancia delta 16 v but are rare as fook

if it's a cossie exhaust housing it will not fit the standard erst wastegate elbow. you'll need a different downpipe if you use a cossie exhaust housing. think Jamsport have them that you can buy off the shelf.
