MK3 ESCORT 2DR 2.0 SILVER TOP ZETEC HELP PLEASE
2.0 SILVER TOP ZETEC FITTED TWIN 45, WEBBERS, COSSIE BRAKES ETC,
RIGHT HERE'S THE PROBLEM THE CAR HAS THE FULL RS1600i LOWER TWIN ANTI ROLL BAR SETUP BOLTED UP, AS IT HAS A LARGE ALUMINUM BRACKET IN EACH CORNER OF THE ENGINE BAY .
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH ALTERNATOR BRACKET AND ALTERNATOR WILL FIT THIS CAR, AS THE LARGE ALUMINUM BRACKET IN EACH CORNER OF THE ENGINE BAY RESTRICTS CLEARANCE.
HEARD MAYBE THE RS 1800 FIESTA BRACKET MIGHT FIT IS THIS TRUE?
ANY ONE WITH A SERIES ONE ESCORT TURBO ZETEC RUN INTO THESE ALTERNATOR CLEARANCE PROBS?

i run a complete mk5 escort zetec setup including the power steering!!
its close to the plate but then i have turbo technics anti roll bar plate, think they will have the same clearance thought.
if there was any issues with clearance then you could always drop the plate down 10mm or so with spacers!!

Thanks, that would be great!
I just bolted the zetec escort alternator bracket (the type that has the location for air con too) and the PAS pump to my Zetec. The engine is not in the car yet, but by the way it looks I'm pretty confident there wont be any problems with my RS1600i ARB setup. My power rack (LHD Nissan T12 BB) is still in the post but soon I'll see how well it fits the bulkhead.

i used an XR2i 16v alternator set up in my mk4 zetec but dunno if it would clear mk3 roll bar - might be worth a look cos they dont run power steering

firstly you need to take it to engineers and get them to make custom adjusters on the track rods as they are wrong length.
then you need to take the whole steering colum out and get it welded and adapted to fit the rack which is a dash out job.
then you gotta cut a hole in bulkhead.
and then the clutch pedal has to be cut away and strengthened by welding plate down side so it will clear the colum.
and lots lots more work.
took me 3 months but the car was off the road and stripped down at the time!
my suggestion is dont do it, its alot of work and money.
buy a fiesta as they had power steering on some mk3's

I'm not worried about the things I need to solve, it doesn't look that bad. The pedals are not an issue in a LHD car and certainly the dash an engine etc will come out for the job. That's no big deal.
I'm mostly interested if you mounted it directly to the bulkhead as it is, or tilted it back first to better meet the angle of the RST rack.
And i'm an engineer, so no need to take it to one

the problem is sealing the bulkhead once you have cut the hole bigger.
its something that i havnt finished off yet as i dont drive my car in the rain it doesnt effect me.
but one day i will make a cover so its water tight
