Default TWO s2 problems

After putting a new old engine in a little while ago iv had nothing but problems it's been a project for about a year and a half . Im getting there slowly but i have a few problems that i just can't figure out myself. iv wrote a few on here with some sucssess but im still having the problem with the revs on idle going up and down. It only does it when it's warmed up.
the other problem is when you put you foot down the revs go up nice then the boost starts kicking in and then it goes all crackerly and there's no more power and sometimes back fires. But if you rev it up in nutral there is no problem it only seems to be when the car is under load. I dont want to take it to a garage coz iv allways do the work myself and im not working at the moment. Iv got a spaire everything more or less for it so i can change a few parts. Please throw some idea's my way
thanks for looking

Get it setup on a rolling road, get all these problems discovered and sorted out, IMO thats the only way to be sure/safe in the knowledge the car is 'ok' and your not going to melt a piston........for the sake of what £50-60? for an hour on a RR!

idle - sounds like it either needs ignition timing sorted, idle control valve (forgot the proper name for it on an MFI erst)...air leak...does it start ok?

missing on boost - plug changed/gapped, Ign Timing, Fueling checked...could be other things...

your pissing into the wind really, you could spend £60 guessing and still not get it right....

On start up it can be a bit of a pig where on the mfi is the idle control valve.
I will get it on the rollers soon as i get a mot on it. What is the chance of melting a piston iv never realy driven it much as it's still in the project stage. Iv flatened it through first and second a few time but not for periods of time just trying to pick out faults. I could understand if i was flat out everwere but im not but like you say if the fueling and all that is out could it fry it that qwick? (i hope not)
thanks for your help
