Despite the bullshit that's been bandies about pubs for many years teh diesel gearbox is no tougher than the standard item. Get in contact with Competition Gearbox Services. Bernies boxes are tough as nails, certainly survived what my brother and I have thrown at ours.

My car is 230 bhp and running a standard box!

Yeah they are crap imo, really long gears so loose acceleration and no tougher, plus massive torque steer!
My car came with one fitted.
Standard S2 box all the way unless your running really big power!

i'll be running around 200 bhp and in future over it. but i don't know if it's possible but i would like to install something like anti lag system and then your gearbox suffers i think. and indeed somebody told me the crap about the diesels being much tougher. but i also don't know if ALS is possible on the old rst s2 system. Does somebody here know? because last time there was a launch system on ebay but you needed a dis ignision for it.

cheers

For ALS you will need to swap the management over to at least Cossie (and I seem to recall only some ECU's will support the ALS and require an additional board). You will also need a modified throttle body and valve and a Maram 247 shafted turbo to stop the heat generated killing things off.

If you have to ask about the price of it then you can't afford it.
