Default high revs and getting hot! please help

Hi ok may seem like a stupid question ect but this is my first rs turbo.

All was fine untill i did an engine flush and changed oil (10/60) and changed plugs 1 it would missfire when it came on boost sorted that. it was a dodgy plug.

Now the problem is the car seems to be getting realy hot and when it does it revs realy high on idle and will not go down! sits at about 3k when i cut the engine i can hear and feel the water pipes bubbling. the water pump seems to be working and i have taken the stat out so i know water is getting through.

i don't know what the problem is with the revs, but when i cutted my engine i also heared the waterpipes bubbling, so that's not really a problem. what does the temp look on the dash?

says its stone cold lol the dash is pretty crap! ive ordered a new one as the only things that works in the speedo i changed the temp sender but nothing the car smells hot and just seems a lot hotter than before (even in middle of summer when it was being driven hard) and now it gets very warm even if i dont spool up. so the bubbling is normal?

i have no idea why the revs are so high? only seems to do it once its warmed up too.

start your car up,take the cap of the header tank and let the car warm up,this will bleed your water system n should get rid of the bubbles ect, thats what i did anywy

Try resetting the ECU, disconnect your battery but only if you have a secure place to do this, as your car will be unlocked with no alarm, reconnect in the morning and run for 5 miles, the ECU will recalculate itself, this should sort out your problem.
