glowing manifold & turbo!!!
ok, i took my car for a spin earlier and when i got back i left it
ticking over then got out and opened bonnet to find my manifold
and turbo were glowing bright red. i did not really thrash it and
ive never seen this before so any ideas?
also just recently its started breathing heavy and spitting a bit of
oil out, ive cleaned breather pipes and done a compression test
and all seems ok, im running same amount of boost and the
engine does not smoke or rattle, ffs nothings ever simple lol.

The timing could be out, forcing a burning mixture out the exhaust valves then thru the manifold and the turbo ect.

i admit i wasnt going slow but i wasnt thrashing the ass off it either.
im currently stripping it down now anyway as i think the rings are
worn, its not really smoking but has way too much back pressure
and will fill my 1 litre oil catch tank in about 2 hours.
on the same note i did find the timing was out and my fuelling was
way over the top, hence the new rings.
