Why? I'm pretty sure standard ones are fine.... just give them a make over, new shoes etc

As Radders said mate. no point really. Simply fit new original items after a good clean up and they are ample. If you need anymore then go for rear discs.

Mine are the original ones that were on the car from the factory. They have been apart twice in the 8 years that I have owned the car.

Put rear discs on mate and be done with it rather than uprated drums.

Your rear brakes do 10% of the braking. The standard set up is perfectly good enough for the job if working properly. Dont waste your money.

Thought it was more 30 to 40% myself ??

*Edit:

What we're really talking about here is "brake balance" or "brake bias," which is the difference in the amount of hydraulic pressure channeled to the front and rear brakes. The front brakes on most rear-wheel-drive vehicles normally handle about 60-70 percent of the brake load. But on front-wheel-drive cars and minivans, as well as RWD and 4WD pickups and SUVs, the percentage handled by the front brakes can be as much as 90 percent of the load.
