Would It Make Much Difference In Selling It ? ...
Just wanted a few people opinions really...
If you was looking at buying a car, would you be more tempted to buy it if it had tax ? or would it not really make any difference to you?
Do you also think it would help the resale value of the car ?
The car would have 12 months MOT.
Thanks.

Why are you concerned about tax? Thats the easy bit!
The only time i would be bothered by tax is if the owner was a bit dense in the old grey matter and was offering 12 months tax for the price of 6............

Im asking more from a selling point of view. Wanna sell my car, but just not sure if tax will make it any more appealing or not? It's got 12 months MOT which is the main thing I guess.

A car with 6 months Tax I would prefer because from a buyer's point of view you havent got to shell out another Ł99 on 6 months tax after you just payed Ł x on a car.
However the MOT is the main point.

If it's off the road now then there's no point in wasting road tax on a car not being used..however you could advertise it with 6 months then tax when it sells.
Alternatively sell it for Ł100 less without tax...but then you'd be bartered on the price anyway and could end up dropping another Ł100 on top. You could also get tax..but again get bartered down Ł100 losing more...
Works all ways.
Personally, if it had no tax then I'd use that to get another Ł100 off. If it had tax I'd haggle on the price anyway but prob only get an extra Ł50 off it (dependant on starting price of course).

yeah, its kind of swings and roundabouts really. If I spend Ł100 on tax theres no guarantee that I will get Ł100 more for the car than selling it without.
Like I said, I think the main thing is that it's got 12 months MOT on it, I always find that more appealing personally when looking to buy a car.

are you getting confused with the ''OLD' days?? before the police had the powers to check vehicle details on the move!!!
a car in de old days with tax could be drove around with no insurance and mot and couldnt be checked _tax was a visable item showing its ok on the road --------- not anymore.

Not like an MOT where its a gamble.
Obviously as someone has pointed out about driving home, some people get funny about that, me myself it wouldnt concern me because the chances of getting stopped are quite remote and even if you do as long as you tax the car within the same month theres nothing that can be done anyway.
I certainly wouldnt go out and buy tax just to sell though, as shawn said you could always tax it if/when it sells if the buyer so wishes.
