Default S1 Massive Missfire

Had the S1 out only for the 3rd time this year

Anyhow - was coming off a roundabout de-acelerating coasting up to the lights - the rev's suddendly drop and come back on again - the car idle's no problem at lights....

i drive off and get to about 25Mph and the car starts violently backfireing as in like a shot gun going off then it died

i popped bonnet and all seemed ok - i try to start her and she's fires up and runs spot on not a problem

i set off home in her and the same happens 5 mins down the road

then it runs totally fine again - ARRRRGHHHHHH

Any clues chaps?

and please keep things basic as im not clued up on the CVH Turbo engine at all

Cheers
Daz

U checked the plug gaps??? Just because things are new doesn't mean they can be faulty??? Did it run fine before hand??

yeah if it is running high boost standard plugs with standard gaps can play up. due to high boost blowing out the spark.

if its running high boost on a standard chip then it could be overboosting. mine was temperamental when it wanted to play up! and that gives a violent back fire!
