Default new bottom end

o.k as most may know i blew my engine on way to cumbria rsoc last month and ive been offerd a 1.8 zetec bottom end now what would need to be done to run 190bhp on it as the engine that was last in the car was 240bhp 1.6 cvh so the turbo and top end is a very good spec the block has been in a s2 before but for that power do i need low comp pistons e.t.c cheers guys looking for as much power that i can safely get with keeping all my own stuff and spending very little

cheers guys help is apreciated just need the car back on the road asap

Default 1.8zvh

i'm rinning a 1.8 zvh with skimmed standard pistons at about 14 psi of boost...and it flys.my spec is piper 285 t2 cam,5th inj,stg2 turbo,grs fmic,k/n 57i,185 chip...a guy up our way had a similar spec but with out the 5th inj. and only had a double capacity pace 'cooler and he got a 240 odd on the rollers the torque is amazing

Cant you salvage any of the bits from your last engine, have you stripped it to see if it deffo had a steel crank and rods.

in the prosses now as i thought the engine would be fooked would this be better for me if it did would there be less damage as it dont seem as bad as first thought

What was the spec on the old CVH?

as already said, put he crank and rods in anothercvh block if the forgeed,

other wise, order forged pistons and rods from america, bout 400 quiid these days, can run as much boost as you head will flow then

turbo boss is making 4000bhp + with this set up (think he uses omexmanagement though)

He's on SECS at the mo, but moving to L8 I do believe

not sure about your old spec but if you was to go zvh the best route to go is to get the sump,pick up pipe & flywheel of that 1800 & bolt it onto a 2.0l then get a set of pistons from a calibra/cavalier turbo engine(LET) & send the rods & pistons to area six as he charges £90 to fix them together as they need modifieng then bang it all together & there you have it, some may say you need steel rods but severn valley ran a zvh to 300bhp+ on standard rods so its up to yourself realy
