i run one on my cossie, and fine for 460+ bhp and 30 psi.

i think you will find its the fitting that sometimes causes issues.

because a standard ford gasket is capable of so much and is so reliable, so why would you want anything else?

the block has to be totally flat which you cant be sure of without having the block decked, and as well as having the head skim the finish got to be good... i think these gaskets should only be used on a new build...

because ive just blown my first headgasket on the RS so am willing to try an uprated one, plus my heads been skimmed so a slightly thicker gasket is just what i need, hence choosing a cometic one

i was just wondering why they are so crap, everone always slags them of but never gives a reason why

A standard ford gasket is so reliable you shouldn't need anything else.

And i ask you the question, why has yours just failed? Detonation no doubt, no gasket will stand up to that!

standard ford gasket will handle 2bar of boost all day check the flatness of the block before using a cometic gasket.

Thicker gaskets will fail easier though........

i appreciate skimming will ever so slightly increase the compression ratio but unless your running silly boost its not going to make much difference.

I've had a large number of CVH turbos. About 14 cars with them now.

Which I've had about 10 million problems with, but never a h/g problem, ever, cos I've only ever used the Payen/Ford one.
