bit of a strange 1,
i recently snapped my cam in half
long story available in my resto thread
ive fitted a new head that was from my mate tom scarletts 300bhp s1, now the head was all built up when i put it on, head, valves, lifters, rockers etc along with a vernier pulley,
the pully was not bolted to the cam tho,
now ive fitted it all up and the car runs fine
but im getting an oil leak from the end of the cam itself where the vernier bolts on
it is not coming form the rubber seal around the cam as there is no oil whatsoever there, its driving me mad as its making a right mess flicking oil all over the show,
here is pics of the vernier, sensor set up all bolted on then a pic with the sensor pick up and bolt removed to show the oil seeping out

is there meant to be an o ring or something there
or is the reason its leaking oil because i have not thread locked/sealed it as i wasn't sure if the sensor was in the right place? if was to seal it with thread sealer would this stop it ok
thanks

I had the same problem when i fitted a new cam to me RSi a while back, couldnt understand why it was doing it but then i was told to coat the pulley bolt thread with loctite before refitting it, no problems since
Something to do with the cam sweating the oil out i was told?

The cam has holes drilled through it to help oil flow where the cam runs against the head surfaces, so oil enters inside the same, the better cams inclusive of Ford ones, have ball bearings pressed in to stop the oil running out the end.
Cheap/poor quality ones don't

Where did you get the cam position sensor (trigger assembly and pickup assembly)?
I am putting together a Haltech E6S management system, and would like to use a cam position sensor for full sequantial operation.
Cheers
