Default S2 Jacking points/axle stand locations

As above.

Any diagrams kicking about?

Looking to spend a day or two giving the underside a quick clean, wheres the best places to be placing a trolley jack and axle stands?

Cheers

Under the towing eye beam front & back for the jack and on the suspension/ swing arm for the stands.
I hate jacking cars up

Front roll bar mounts with a rog on the jack so you don't scratch anything, support it on the chassis rails behind the TCA's (use rags again so you dont scratch anything)

Rear, jack up on the wishbones underneath the springs, axle stands where the tie bars bolt to the floor pan.

All VERY solid places.

rs shawn, i hate jacking them up aswell, people that jack cars up on sills should be hung

I do always jack it up at the gearbox/engine support beam. Nothing wrong with that I hope?

well the car hasn't moved since Christmas Eve when it was pissing out water from somewhere so i was in the process of fitting a new rad in January before i went back to uni and haven't seen the car since! haha

Am gonna go home and get it roadworthy in a couple of weeks time though so the problems will all come flooding (excuse the water based pun!) back im sure

also i have been doing my final exams at uni so i haven't been doing much of anything lately but nearly finished

Slightly OT but what about jacking up a mk3 Fiesta and positioning axle stands?

Cheers

Same points I'd guess..but not 100%. Might be better asking that in the fiesta forum for an accurate answer.

Fiesta's have a torsion bar rear suspension so at least the rear jacking points will be completely different. Just don't jack it up at the torsion bar (the thing that goes from the left wheel to the right wheel and looks like a live axle). Can be bent quite easily (well that's the clue about a torsion bar)

Dont think fiesta's do have a torsion pbar peter, they have 2 shocks and 2 springs, no need for a torsion bar. they have a solid axle and an anti roll bar also?

Err... Maybe I've just translated it the wrong way.

What do you call the rear axle setup of the Fiesta in english? The one where both coil over struts are connected to each other through a flexible metal bar, therefore creating an independent suspension even though looking like a rigid axle.
