Default s1 gear linkage

hi all can anybody tell me where i can get a new gear linkage for my s1 turbo its a bit on the sloppy side and 3rd is a bitch sometimes so wanted to do somethin about it

Get the bits and service it, its only worn parts making it sloppy.

Doubt very much if you'll find a new linkage easily

Can you get a service kit for it? what about the actual selector on the gearbox the linkage connects too? think mines a bit worn.

get a b&m quickshift it improves the gearchange no end u will need to use ur old selctor and stabilser rod though as they dont come with them and are no longer avalible from ford the b&m is about £215

The selector in the box will never wear to that extent, its always the linkage trust me.

From experience I don't trush you. The stick, casing bottom, casing top cover, etc. are usually extreamly worn and beyond repair. As a bonus, some parts cost so much that one can buy two new complete Puma shifters for the price of the replacement parts.

Whack the U/J with a hammer to tighten it down a bit.

If its worn shim it with washers then whack it lol

i just got a new selector with the u/j on it from ford in kirkcaldy cant mind how much it was that much

Internals are different

S1 has the 'gate' in the bottom of the plastic bit

i bought the gear stick & bushes from ford 18 months ago. cost me about £50 for the stick & pennies for the bushes. Could be worth a try
